Elena Poldi hails from an old Russian circus family, dating back to the end of 19th century. Between 1976 and 1996 she was a circus performer (tight rope walker and juggler). Toured Rus-sia and foreign countries (Yugoslavia, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Japan). Graduated from the Director Department of State Institute of Dramatic Art, Moscow in 1989. Since 1993 worked as a producing director of circus programs and variety shows. In 1993, she ran a studio at the Center of Circus Art, Moscow, developing new numbers and shows. From 2001 – CEO and Art Director of the «NeboDeti» – young performers group, which sprang out from the team of the «Lenin-Street» circus performance (directed by Elena Poldi). The pro-duction is a synthesis of circus, theatre, dance and visual effects. The group performed in Russia (Moscow, St.-Petersburg, etc.), in Singapore and Italy (as part of the Golden Circus Festival, Rome), and often participates in various in-country and out-of-country projects. |
